The search committee for appointment of Vice Chancellors/Rector,appointed by the president, Islamic republic of Pakistan/Chancellor, Federally Chartered Universities invites application from accomplished and strongly motivated academic leaders and administrators who can develop further and improve the management of the following important resources of intellectual growth and higher learning.
ALLAMA IQBAL OPEN UNIVERSITY (AIOU), ISLAMABAD
AIOU is the first open university in Asia. AIOU is a unique institution in Pakistan because of its philosophy, system, approach, functions and overall structure. The University with its main campus at Islamabad and huge network of regional centers spread all over the country is serving its clientele all over Pakistan and in the Middle east. AIOU is a Distance Education Institution, which provides multi-disciplinary education from basic to doctoral lever program.
INTERNATIONAL ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY (IIU), ISLAMABAD
IIU is an international seat of Islamic learning in Pakistan, inviting students from all around the world. The university envisages to develop an international Islamic seat of higher learning, research institution and training in various branches of knowledge with special emphasis on Islamic Studies, Social Sciences and Humanities, Subjects to be taught, studied, developed and reconstructed in such a way as to produce a balanced and harmonious human personality, duly informed of and embedded in the Islamic world view and infused with Islamic idealism and fully aware of the human intellectual and scholastic heritage, including the most current developments in human.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants - preferably PhD. not more than 65 years of age on the closing date for submission of applications will be assessed according to their academic and leadership abilities and attainments, as wee as significance evidence of scholarship, administration, meaningful research, strategic planning, financial management and resource development. A holistic understanding of issue pertaining to the higher education sector including enhancement of pedagogy and quality assurance, research and development, impact on economy, development of human and financial resource, and constructive social interaction with communities, will be considered as major asset.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT.
The Vice Chancellor / Rector shall be appointed by the Chancellor for a period of 4 years, as provided under law and will be entitled to draw "VICE CHANCELLOR SALARY PACKAGE" as approved by the Chancellor.

Appropriately experienced candidates capable of taking up the challenge of the position may apply separately for each position by sending a letter of intent, curriculum vitae and contact details of three referees.
The letter should explain in less than 1000 words, their vision of the strengths and possibilities of development and sustenance of the University's programmers.
Members of civil society, professionals, scholars, etc are also encouraged to nominate accomplished, academicians or researchers suitable for consideration of possible appointment as Vice Chancellor, subject to submission of formal application.
Those already in Government/ Semi Government service are required to apply through proper channel.
